I have a '88 accord carberated! I cant seem to figure out where the red hoses go that come from the left side of the engine bay by the firewall and if anyone can tell me what that black tube is that the red hoses come out of is called and what it's for?!

 

a pic would help, but it sounds like you are referring to hose that comes off the brake booster or a fuel line. i cant remember which has red lettering.

 

alright.. the red hose that comes out of the firewall goes to a black plastic tank.. then to the engine.. the black tank is your charcoal canister..the hose that runs into the firewall goes to the fuel tank and retrieves vapors from the fuel.. then sends it to the engine... its used for emissions.. and the black hose coming out of the firewall goes to a separate smaller tank looking thing.. thats your fuel filter... then to the engine... the hose going to the firewall should be the fuel return line to the tank.. you kinda need that for the car to run... hope this info helps
