Default Putting a ZEX DRY kit on my 00 Si

I have a 00 Civic Si with around 90k miles. The compression is 215-225 across the board. I have just I/H/E and a CTR intake cam. JDM ITR header, AEM SRI, and APEXI WS2 exhaust.

I am planning on putting a zex dry 50 or 55 shot on my car.

Can I just put the kit on or will I need a tune? Will I need dif plugs and to change my timing?

About how much power to the wheels do you think I can make when I spray? What will that equate to in the 1/4 in my EM1?

Is it safe to spray a motor with 90k miles?

Lastly about how long will a 10lb bottle last me? Not time wise but like how many hits of the button?

sparaying it sould be fine but not daily you know. whatever ur shot (50) is going to be thats how much more power ur going to put down. alo remember u want that bottle to stay cool. a 10lb will probly last with a 50 shot about 8-10 my boy was doing a 50 shot and thats about how much he got out of it. u will need new injuctors and i would get new pluugs as well. but u should be fine u dont have to mess with the timing.

All depends on how much your going to hit it. You'll cook through plugs thats for sure. Injectors why not. Tune well thats up to you.

if i were you or if i could turn back time i would buy something else i have a 98 Si (Canadian) with a b16a2 swap out of a 2000 si (sir) when i first got it it had 210 across the boards now like a year later i now have 130-140 across the boards shitty ehh? my motor had apporx 100,000 kms 60,000 miles. i have ngk plugs msd ignition dc header cold air intake, and a Apexi exhaust the car ran mint but after i put 1 bottle threw it 3-6 months after it started smoking (black) unburnt fuel if you do run it you'll probably be like me and cook your rings i had a zex dry kit as well. your car will haul *** i destroyed a eg coupe with a built Ls vtec it was embarrassing for that guy cause i called him on and then he laughed at me my car looked completely stock with rims once i got traction it was no contest. All is good though i'm building a b20 vtec out of it and putting in a ls fifth gear sorry for this being so long but i wish i didnt run the Zex now cause it smokes like hell when i haul on it and barely get 400kms a tank

Yea im not plannin on going crazy with it. maybe just hit it a few times a week.

I have the kit sitting in my garage right now. Zex dry 55 shot.

I just need to know if I do need colder plugs, have to mess with my timing at all, and if I should get it tuned. I have 2 ECU options, the stock p2t or a p28 but its on a not so good b16 basemap.

What do you guys think? I don't wanna mess up and blow my motor over something stupid.

No, I don't want wet because if you hit rev limiter with a wet kit, you will lean out and bye bye motor.

from What I hear you run more of a risk leaning you with a dry kit than a wet kit. my self and a few other people I know run wet kits and there as been know issues

I already have the dry kit so I'm gonna go with that. the zex smart box adds fuel when there is a lean condition so I'm not worried about that.

I still need to know if I need a tune, if I should mess with my timimg, and what kinda plugs I should get though. On the zex website it says you dont have to retart timing but I wanna make sure.

Also is it hard to install?

Yes I would chane the timing I dont think you have to on the 55 shot but it would be a good Idea I would aslo get a tune as well you can never be too safe

as far as the install goes not to bad the only problem I had was my zex box was fualty and it would engage a 20% throttle and I have a back fire called zex got a new box and was good to go they were great to deal with GL on install it not that bad

I have a zex dry kit spraying a 75 shot on a stock b18c5 and all you need to
do is retard the timing 2 deg for every 50hp, and gap your plugs to 35.
I have gone through 10 bottles with no problems. You should lose about 1 second
off your 1/4 mile time. Have fun

2nd, if your gunna use that small of a shot on a b16 i would highly consider a tune. no use in squeezing HP Stupidly and a few months down the road have no HP at all(blown).

Its not a bad as everyone cracks it up to be. My old gsr swap burnt soooo much oil since the day i installed it. I knew it needed a rebuild/ new motor so i threw a 75 shot on it. It was a dry shot controlled via hondata's nitrous control. Ran that setup for a few months without further issues until the car got stolen and found with a blown motor.

Now the car is on a freshhhh jdm gsr that burns no oil whatsoever. After about a month on the motor, it was back to the bottle. This time i threw a 100 shot on it and it ran like a champ. About 3 bottles through it and is hasnt burn, smoked, or even hick upped at all. That was on stock pump and injectors too. Now i just threw in some skunk2 pro1's and am awaiting a tune with a 255fp and some rc 440's. It should be consistently into the 12's on radials Oh yeah, of course i used one step colder plugs and retarded 2* for every 50 shot.

Its awsome. And good luck with traction, i dont get it until half way through 3rd

I'm just using a stock type r ecu, I just retarded the timing and bumped the fuel pressure up 10 psi and gaped the plug to 35. It took 1 sec off my 1/4 mile time.
