Default grade of rear lca bolts

Well i ran across this in another thread, can anyone confirm this?
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Furyof4 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Class 10.9 is equal to Grade 8.

Some info:
http://www.rigging.net/Bolts.html</TD></TR></TABLE>
also are the bolts from shock to lca, hub to lca, and subframe to lca, all the same.
I cralled under my car to look, and the bolt from shock to lca was stamped 10.9 on the head but the other 2 bolts were blank. The dealership only has 4 bolts and they want $15.00 a piece , so i am trying to get them somewhere else. any guidance is appriciated

also does anybody know the size( i think 10mmx80mm)and the thread pitch?

Yes 10.9 is the metric equivalent to SAE grade 8. Most of the 10.9 bolts will be black and tend to rust quicker cause of the coating or lack there of they put on the bolts. 10.9 will suffice for your needs. Why are you wanting to put new bolts on the LCA's? I am not sure if all of the bolts are the same. I have not taken them off yet. Hope this helps you out BTW nothing from Honda is cheap, but I always say, "go OEM or go home!" I am a firm believer in OEM parts.

Yes, they are all the same. I did replace my LCA bolt to a grade 10.9 bolt since my oem bolt was rusty and seize up. The oem bolt is 80mm long. Thead pitch is a 10mmx1.25. But my grade 10.9 bolt is only 70mm long. Still work fine for me.

You want to make sure that the bolt goes all the way through the mounting nut, just to be safe. If your bolt doesn't pass through the entire nut, you could possibly strip the bolt/nut threads while torquing it down.

^It went through all the way and I used a nut with a lock washer at the end. Still have a few 3-5mm sticking out after the nut.
