White stuff on windshield Look!
What is this stuff inside my windshield? Looks almost like styrofoam inside there or something, the picture shows it pretty well. It seems like it might be a layer of plastic in the anti-shatter glass thats cracking or somethin, I really don't know. If this has happened to you, or you know what it is let me know! Does Honda have any kind of warranty on windshields? If not, is there any way to fix this? thanks
ok well i had done the same thing to my window. The molding around it pooped out so i re cauked it with white cauking and it seeped through into the window. It looked just like that but not as bad. I fixed it now.
2 ways to do so:

1) crack window and have insurance deal with it
2)Use guitar wire to pop out windshield and reinstall with proper proceedure. Just pull wire allong to cut the kaaking
GOOD LUCK

If its what I think it is I have the same problem, its the Plastic that is sandwiched betwwn the two layers of glass that makes up the windshied. Nothing you can do about it. its age. splurge for a new windshield if it bothers you. Its the only option you have.

DO OPTION 1)
Go into the insurance building and say you cracked your window ask them how much its gonna cost to fix. If it is to much then dont come back if its what your willing to pay go home and throw beer cans at your car window

Problem with that option is the insurance is likely to take it out of your hide when they renew the policy. Plus if you figure out what your deductible is It may not be worth turning in that way.
If it was a case of "vandalism", then its not your fault and your premium will not increase...just have to deal with deductible...and karma...
It appears that the glass is de-laminating. Windshields are made of multiple layers of glass laminated together. For some reason, your layers are seperating. I don't think this is possible to fix. Time for a new windshield.
yes but if you have a $250 deductible and it cost $300 to replace is it worth it? Those were hypothetical numbers, I have no idea what a new windshield costs. But I have the same clouding on the outer 1/2" of my windshied too, but I can live with it. Its delaminating thats what I meant to say earlier. But I thought I was clear on that.

thanks for the help, looks like it's gonna have to be replaced. I don't know if I have glass coverage with my insurance, I'll have to check it out. But yeah, I think you're right about the de-laminating.
same thing happened to mine, then a couple months later it started to crack, now i have a crack all the way across it, but i found a local place that will replace it for 150, not too bad compared to the 300 everyone else wants
