Default gear- neutral without the clutch?!

Today as i was driving about 40mph on the freeway i accidentally shifted without the clutch and no grinding whatsoever happened. I tried it again at 40mph in 5th, 4th and 3rd. and still nothing. Are my synchros screwed up? is my clutch bad?.. pretty much i can shift out of gear without touching the clutch at all.

there is nothing wrong, when you match the speed of your engine with the same speed of your trans gears you will be able to shift in and out of gears.

btw if you know other "spots" or speeds in which gears that do not require the clutch can you let me know as well?

pulling out of gear is easier than putting into gear. dont try it tho. i think the magic number is between 3000-3500 for us.. dont quot eme on that.

it can be any speed, you just need to know what gear your going into and what rpms it should be at when you shift into that gear at that speed. sorry its kinda hard to explain.

you'd be letting off the gas to be pulling it out of gear, and blipping the throttle to the proper RPMs putting it into gear

as prebiously stated, taking it out of gear is easy, putting it back in you'll get a whole lot of grindage, sounds like you got pretty lucky with no grinding
