Default K-Max Speed ECU from Japan

Hi! I have a 1995 SIR-G Integra (JDM) which I bought late last year. Quite a few things had been done to the car before it was imported here to the Bahamas (I'll post pics of the car and give details of everything once I qualify after the week trial as a noob), but anyways, I decided to snoop around to see if anything was done to the ECU. I found that the car had a K-Max Speed sticker on the ECU and wondered if any of you guys had ever heard of them before??? I did find them searching the net and wrote them sending them pics of the ECU's internals and they gave me all the details of what was done to the computer. They said the fuel map had been changed as well as the ignition map, speed limiter had been removed and the rev limiter was bumped up to 8800 rpm. I had never heard of this company before buying my car and know it may be <U>a long shot</U>, but thought I'd ask if anyone has ever heard of them before?? Curiosity is killing me (LOL).

Here are a few pics for the record of the ECU.

Yeah, I'll pull it back down when I get a few minutes and snap a shot of it.

Yeah, that's how I found them. I had to use babel fish translator to find any info. The guy who wrote me back didn't speak english very well, but enough to understand what he said they did with the computer. I was mainly just curious if they were a good reliable company. Sorta like asking someone if they think Midas is good if they've never heard of them

Not sure how they are doing it, but I guess they know something. I wanted to pull the computer to take a shot of the bar code this weekend, but my wife lent out our memory card for our camera until Monday so I have to wait until then to get a picture.

Its an OBD2 ECU you can see part of the bar code its a PCT which is a DOHC VTEC ECU from CTR. The car even has OBD2 plugs so your car is a very late 95 or something is wrong here. You can pull the chips out of OBD2 and buy new EPROMs but there expensive then the programers are expensive (no BURN1s here), final problem what are you going to tune with. In my opinion 96-01 OBD2 will never be a tuner friendly ECU, there old skool because of the K-series. Honda helped us by providing OBD1 ECU's which were already chipped but no such luck with OBD2 and Helldata has a tight lock on the K-Pro.

When ou say CTR do you mean Civic Type R? If so, then I believe you are right because on the computer cover itself, someone scratched onto it with a screw or something "EK9 STD" and from what I can remember, Civic's go by EK9. Not sure if you will be able to see it (probably not all that well), but I have a picture saved which I pasted below. Also, my car is 1995 Integra.

Here's the picture for what it's worth .

yeah CTR is Civic R which had the chassis code EK9. If you notice the ECU plugs there OBD2 style the center one is blue and there spread apart in OBD1 there all grey and plug in right next to each other. This car isn't currently or previously an auto I know there were some oddball teg SI-R/GS-R which were autos and the ECU's used 4 plugs but I have never seen one to verifiy OBD1 or OBD2 Plugs. Run the VIN and see if was an auto, you can check carfax it will tell you what the car was and thats about it (its free). ECU wise guess you will have to take the guy you spoke with to what it is. It appears to be a chipped ECU the EPROM you pictured with the DC2 writing on it looks different then anyother chip on the board (missing the coating on it).

Does carfax work with cars coming directly from Japan because this is a true right hand drive Integra that was imported here to the Bahams from Japan?? If so, I'll give it a shot and see what comes up. Hopefully by the end of the day I would have finished my "trial" stage as a member here which will allow me to post some pictures and specs of the car in the appropriate forum section.
