1991 Honda Accord LX instant death mystery
I own a 91 honda accord 2 door 5 speed manual and the 2.2l engine. I drove this thing since febuary, i just drove it to LA from fort Riley, KS. gave it an oil change and checked all fluid levels, brake pads, etc. then drove it back to kansas. now when I got back I drove it for a week, but one day i was driving and the car felt like it was stalling all of a sudden, i put it in neutral, gave it gas but it just died, and i let it roll into a parking lot, hasnt run since. I took it to the shop on post, and have been working on it myself. we checked the ignition, and with the new spark plugs there is bright blue spark. we checked the fuel pressure, and the fuel pump works. we checked compression and all cylinders read 185 psi. the ECU flashed a trouble code 14 which is the EACV which we tested the wires, found it was faulty changed it and still it will not run. whats causing this car not to start or run anymore? the shop where my car is on post, is a place for soldiers to work on their cars, it has lift bays, flat bays, and all the tools needed to do any job, they just dont have the all the answers to my car problem....
main relay is a common failure, at the least if you are confident with a solder iron, take it out and resolder all the joints and stick it back in.
this morning I took your advice, and pulled out the main relay. Using a link I found after searching main relays, I learned how to remove and diagnose, but after removal, I failed to find any cracks, but I did notice orange/brown spots on some of the solder joints, I have no clue what to do now. should I resolder all the joints?
any advice is greatly appreciated
