Default 96 Honda Accord Timing belt?

So my car died on me last week while driving, so had it towed home. I finally got around to trouble shooting the problem today and I'm pretty sure the timing belt broke. I know where it's at and I could prolly figure out how to change but I would like to know if any seasoned Honda vets could give me any tips or tricks that would make the job so much easier. Thank you.

what you mean pretty sure? take the timing belt cover off and take a look

in short to change it you will need the following (major things there is a complete how to in the faq)

might want to use impact tool for the big *** nut on t
open rad cap when car is COLD
drain cooling system and loosen alt adjustment bolt
remove drive belts
lift car or jackstands under front jack points
remove driver's side front wheel
remove fender liner
remove main pully
remove timing belt cover
remove water pump
remove tensioner

when you install new one it is best to
install new retainer kit for seal
install new hoses
install new tensioner
install new drive belts
install new water pump

here is an idea

if the T-belt stripped off teeth you should check for bent valves.

looks like i got lucky no bent valves or stripped teeth, it seems as though the last time the belt was changed out the tensioner pulleys weren't changed cuz one the bearings in them flung out the grease and locked up and just snapped the belt. other than it being broken the belt looked pretty damn new. i've only had the car for about 1 year so i have no idea what work has been done to it but it runs great for 176k miles. i'm just surprised that i had no bent valves.

good to hear man, consider yourself lucky no serious damage was done. if you didnt flush the coolant you should consider that as well. just keep up with the routine maintenance and you can expect another 100k
