Trying to find out what turbo i have, and looking for tom from Ludespeed
I tryed to send this E-mail to tom from Ludespeed who sold me a turbo kit years ago. I knew that he had stoped making turbo kits for 3G preludes, but I cant get a e-mail address for him. I'm hoping that some one knows a e-mail address for him, or can tell me what type of turbo are they using on a B20A5. please read letter and help if you can. thanks Bert
Hi Tom,
Years ago I bought a turbo kit from you for a 88 prelude SI (B20A5). After re-building the motor and other setbacks I finally got the car running a few years ago. The car was smoking a little last summer, but after sitting all winter It smoked a lot more. I found that the seals in the turbo have gone bad and now I'm looking for a replacement turbo. I know that in the kit you gave me a T3/T4 external waste gate turbo, but that's all I know. The housing on the compressor says A/R 50 , and then up a little further M 24 , and B.C.C.
My question for you is what exactly was the turbo make/model, trim or anything else I need to know to replace the leaking turbo i have know. I've been looking at Turbonetics but need to know what I'm replacing. I have done many up-grads to the fuel system , internals, and ignition. I had the car running 10-12 psi last summer - It ripped! I would like to push and sustaine 15 PSI with this new turbo, but also spool-up quick. I attached some pict's if that helps. Any help you can give me would be great. Thanks
PS. You had told me how to make solid urethane mounts, they worked great.

i cant answer your question specifically, but have u tried http://www.preludepower.com ? they have more 3Gens on that site than any other's I know of. you may also want to consider having your turbo rebuilt
or just go off the general idea of a t3/4 and look at compressor charts and see what will work best for your needs, maybe you want something that flows a bit more, step up from the .50 to a .56 or so? Alot of the H22 guys are running .60 trim or so from what Ive seen.
Try his website: http://ludespeedperformance.tripod.com/home.html
Email address and ph# are at the top. Whether they still work or not, I do not know.
Also, ++ on the preludepower.com site. You might find other ludespeed kit owners there who can recommend a good turbo upgrade size for the B20.
