How much dampening for koni's with Ground-controls ?
I have Koni's with ground controls with 340f/380r spring rates, and I been having my koni's nearly full stifff, but just recently turned them down all the way to full soft(which is still alot better than stock) because my back has started hurting, and just wanted to know if it is bad to be having the koni's on full soft with spring rates such as this. Is there any rule of thumb when setting the dampening on koni's ?
Also if I ever blow my koni'(hopefully never), can someone explain the warranty that comes with them ? I bought these things brand new in 2005 and they are still awesome!

00 GSR 400/400 rates
I run my Koni Yellows 1/2 turn from full soft for the street. Turn them up as needed for auto-x and HPDE use.
Running them full soft is probably slightly underdamped for those rates, but it won't blow the shocks. In fact, slightly underdamped is probably the best ride quality, as far as the average passenger is concerned. I'd turn them down to full soft, to get a feel for it, then turn them up to full stiff, and keep backing them off slightly until the car feels how you want it to.
No clue on the warranty stuff. I figure I don't have to worry about that until I actually blow one (if that ever happens).

I have my Koni's set at about half way for daily driving and set them at full stiff for AutoX because I run Hoosier slicks. My GC spring rates are 450f/400r
Q: What is theKONI warranty? How do I go about getting replacements?
A:The KONI warranty is a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship and against wear out for as long as you own that car registered for street use. The warranty does not cover damage to the parts caused by misuse, misapplication, installation, motorsports, etc. The warranty does not include mounting bushings. If you determine you have a defective damper you can either contact the company which you purchased the unit(s) from or contact KONI North America directly at warranty@koni-na.com or 859-586-4100. To process your warranty, we will require a copy of the purchase receipt and a vehicle registration. We will generate a return goods authorization (RGA) and can replace the dampers in advance at your discretion. For more specific information about the warranty see inside back cover of our technical guide.
