The b16 tranny isnt helping you out any, but that is extremely excessive fuel consumption.
If your exhaust is black, you may be burning a lot of fuel - perhaps an injector is stuck open?
Ever cleaned them? Run a test to see if they close?
Poor Ign timing would also burn a little more fuel, but certainly not that much....

Yea, I agree with the above, B16 trans will Kill mileage in a B20.
Did you replace the O2, Plugs/wires/cap/rotor when you installed the motor?

negative...but i want to add that at 3k and before 4.2K rpm it sputters allot and it is nasty the car jumps cause of the sputter and if i give it more gas it just makes a gurgle sound and eventually move acordingly to the gas that is being given?
get the right ECU, make sure the tune-up is fresh and maybe look at oxygen sensors? When they go bad, they don't always throw a CEL, but they do destroy MPG.

you should be running the ECU that originally was made for the engine that is currently in the car. LS is a 1.8l and you are driving a B20. There are differences between the two, no?
That ecu is fine... Its the same engine, just 84mm bore instead of 81. Its not chipped with some silly "mugen" or "spoon" program, right?
I'll agree that the o2 needs to be changed. Get a Denso from http://www.sparkplugs.com. Denso or NGK...nothing else.
Check the TPS with a multimeter, as per my instructions on another thread (search for it)

cool I'll do that first.
