Eye Bolt Mounting
I currently have 3" G-Force 6-pt Harnesses mounted to the floor at the OEM position with the OEM bolts, as well as the rollbar for the shoulder harnesses. While it has proven to be fine in my 3 track weekends so far, I am worried when this car turns to a rasekar there might be a few
faces. Here are the 3 options I see with the pros/cons of each:
1. Using the OEM bolts and location:
PROS: this position is factory crash tested and proven strong, there are people (ie CRX Lee) saying that eye bolts suck at side loads, so this eliminates that.
CONS: has the sub belts sandwiched on top of the lap belts, does not allow a direct shot to the seat holes, it is angled back
2. Using Eye Hooks with OEM position:
PROS: again, factory proven point, now we don't have the belts sandwiched
CONS: not quite lined up properly still, who knows how reliable a 20 year old weld is for the eye hook that is gonna get pulled at an angle with more leverage than it was intended to ever see, I don't know if you can even get one that fits the OEM Honda bolt holes
3. Using Eye Hooks with back plates:
PROS: can line it all up however you want, no sandwiched belts, no wonder of old welds
CONS: SLIGHT (not major) laziness to take out my seats and harnesses and then drill a hole
when I can just do option 1 or 2

I have the same harness in my integra. For the anti-submarine belts, I use 4x4 inch plates under the floor with grade 8 bolts. The right side lap belt, I drill a hole in the tunnel across from the oem bolt hole for the oem seat belt, also using backing plate and grade 8 bolts. and the rest is how you have yours...

As I was writing the CONS of option 3, I was like, "wait, there are none...so what do I put? Well I guess that it's extra work, yeah, and there have to be lazy people on here, they would relate at least..."
Haha, sorry if this thread was any less than a sticky candidate

I was wondering the same thing. I took a look on Summit Racing's web site and they sell a couple different brands of eye bolts, but none list the bolt size/thread. I doubt i'd be lucky enough for them to just fit...
Anyone know a source for grade 8 eye bolts that will fit the stock seatbelt holes?

Every seatbelt hole on just about EVERY car is 7/16 -20 thread I believe.
All eyebolts for harnesses are the same thread.

its not something you want to worry about.

Here's a link to some other hardware you can use besides eyebolts:
