Will any P14 work on the SI 4ws?
That's basically my question, cuz my ecu reads 37820-P14-A00, I haven't found one yet with the A00, so I don't know if I can just throw any ecu on my 92 si 4ws.
Yes. Any p14 will work. As long as its for your type of transmission (manual or automatic). I'm not upto par on my ecu codes but I'm guessing by looking at your ecu code its manual, so as long as you stick to manual ecu your fine.
The 4ws has a separate indipendant ECU so any ecu (provided againt that its for the tranny you have) will work with the 4ws.
So you know though you can even convert a manual or auto ecu to vise of versa with a few changes on its board. So either way you are never sh*t up the creek.
Why you need a new ecu anyway? Usually the only reason you need a new ecu is if you back feed it with reverse polarity (swapping battery terminals).

some idiot misplaced the hook that holds the hood, it touched the battery and osme other piece of metal, so the ecu burned. thanks for the info
I saw it, well the mechanic had it open when I got there and yeah, it looked bad, I'm still trying to find a good deal on a P14. I might also need another 4ws module cuz mine doesn't work
On the JDM p13 ecu...the 4ws has 4 plugs and a "4ws" printed on the barcode label, non-4ws has 3 plugs. You can use the 4ws ecu on a non-4ws car...not using the 4ws plug, but you can't use the non-4ws on the 4ws car because of the obvious missing 4ws plug on the ECU.
As for USDM p14...I could have sworn it was pretty much the same...4ws had 4 plugs, non-4ws had 3. Is that not right?

that's incorrect. I have a 4ws lude, that has a h22a swap, with a 2ws p13 ecu... and my 4ws works just fine. I really don't know why they mark those ecu's 2ws or 4ws.. because it doesn't seem to make a diff.

Altilude is correct. The 4ws ecu is indipendent as I said above. I believe the ecu's between the 2ws and 4ws are exactly the same.
Probably labled 2ws and 4ws for inventory purposes. I would assume both models are built on same lines just with different packages to install based on demand per model (si, 4ws, v-tec, maybe even the s?(single over head cam?, etc.(I would assume aswell to be built on same line), I could be wrong?.

Actually the 4ws and the extra plug on JDM ecu's is for the traction control feature that is available on certain models. This option was not available in the US, therefore when you use the JDM ecu's with the 4ws, you will receive a phantom code for traction control.
