h23 to h22 question
The h23 is just stroked right? The actual size of the head/block assembly itself it the same? I'm ordering an engine/tranny assembly from tigerjapanese and you know how they do it, by cutting hoses and stuff, so will all of my hoses and connectors and stuff like that work w/ this swap? Motor mounts are the same part number for the 2 engines so i'm assuming this will be a "realatively" easy swap? Any tips, tricks, or things than any of you have run in to that I may want to watch out for? 1 other thing, I'd like to get a JDM cluster for the h22 so I can watch the tach a little better and also have everything read it KMH (that's just a me thing) is there any prob that may face me in doing that? I really appreciate you're guys' help.
Everything will swap over for the most part. Just use all your wiring from the h23, and add in the wiring for vtec, which there is a write-up on in the faqs, also use the h23 distributor on there, much easier than rewiring for the internal coil one. And you will have to grind a lil portion off the back of the h23 power steering bracket so it fits on the block properly, but its easy to see when you line it up. Also the head is a tad taller, only real difference it can cause is with some specific strut braces i.e. Neuspeed, which the h23 brace wont clear the head.
And look around for Acidcrakkers post on what is needed for the swap, he did a good job on his thread, lots of good info, and all the stuff you should do to the engine while its out of the car, like timing belt, water pump, swapping to a manual tensioner from the h23 etc.
