Default is the GSR oil strainer diff. than LS strainer, oil pan differences and all. changing oil pump

What I am thinking is the pickup/oilstrainer ( are these the same thing?), is different, may sit lower in GSR's than LS's. I have heard that the GSR oil pan is diff.

I know I can use any oil pump thats obd 2, but what about the strainer, is the GSR different?

Thanks

yes the gsr oil pan, windage tray and pick up are different, because of the main girle in the p72 blocks(ITR,GSR,B16B).

if you just want to change the pump you can use the existing pick up and pan. all the oumps have the same casing.(BTW all obd2 oil pumps are the same)

What would happen If I had a gsr oil pan with a b16 pick up/strainer, btw, are these the same thing(strainer and pickup) ?

would there be oil starvation, all the time, only at start up?

Reason for this thread, is my car makes like a knocking it sounds like at start up for just a sec, then runs quietly, at first I thought It was my valves needing an adjustment, so I did the valve adjustment, water pump and timing belt all at same time, still have the knock, so now I think my car may have wrong pick up on it, or pump is going out, or is the knock normal..

Thanks man
