b16 swap
hey guys,
just finished my del sol swap last night and the car starts and run.
i have couple of issues with the car.
1st issue - white smoke coming out of the exhaust
2nd - catalytic converter is getting so hot to the point that i looks like a coal in a grill.
3rd - the car doesnt have power over 4k rpm
i dont have the 02 sensor installed yet because the headers that i got doesnt have the hole for it. ordered headers just waiting in the mail.
vtec harness hasnt been fix yet. still working on it.
anything else i should think of or check to finisht it?

First thing is you dont have two exhaust manifolds you have one so it would be "header" with that out of the way
your converter is plugged an would be the reason it is glowing and result in loss of power and the fact the vtec come in the 5k range would be another loss in power. Fix your problems and try it again an come back and report

after fixing your power loss from no vtec and a clogged cat, i would looking into a compression test. white smoke out of the exhaust is not a good sign.

There could be a simple reason for that though...
When people transport/store an engine some times there dont completely drain the fluids. an on start up could be burned threw the engine. other wise known as burn off. After fixing the vtec and cat let it run for a little then take it out for an easy spin. If you continue to see white smoke look into the compression test.
