Hydro-lock ?'s
ok, so over the past week or so, we have been thinking its better to have a boat than a car down here. whilst drivng through this deluge my car spluttered..hesitated and...died... let her sit for a few then tried to start her..went CLUNK..sit for a little more than vrooom..off we go.
This was the only time she died however she has spluttered and hesitated in the rain since. after that trip she moved into the garage and didnt move till it was dry again. now she **feels** ok however my friend drove her and said she hesitated and once or twice she felt..funny...to me, not up to par.
Now my question is this..what damage may have occoured? how do i find out if everything is a-ok? what should i be worried about and how should i go about looking into it and fixing it? any help would be great! thanks guys!

Most likely you bent a connecting rod in cylinder #1. Actually ..... I guarantee that you did.
Same happened to me. I stalled ..... Started her up few minutes after and she drove fine. Two months later .... during a spirted drive, the connecting rod failed.
Acura engineers proved it was hydo lock which occured months before.
Fortunately it happened during hurricane Floyd and a new motor was covered by the Insurance company.
Better get it checked or replaced. If not, expect a hole the size of an orange in your motor block when that sucker fails.
Goodluck
