Today was free admission day, though only the drifters, Super Lappers, and ALMS cars ran today. I took over 500 pics. Still sorting and deciding which ones to upload.
Anyone else going this weekend? Feel free to contribute your own pics, experiences, etc.

Jimmy Vasser's livery is my favorite. Also, a lot of the drivers have Honda sunstrips on their visors, including Jimmy. Hmmm...I wonder what Jimmy's doing in May.

God I've always loved that car. Badass pic!
I'm still kinda pissed they canceled the grand prix of Denver because of the democratic convention. Now they're talking about not coming back to give other states the chance to see the racing. Good for Champ, but not for us in Co
I've dreamed of racing one of those cars. The last true race car here in North America IMO.

No was asking a general question about the pepole with the shirts on saying "i am not indy"
Both series were sucking big time, and were being HEAVILY subsidized. Hopefully now that they are one, they can become a little more self sustaining

I have not been to a Champ car race in four years thanks to NASA race weekends being scheduled on the same weekend. The turbo Cosworths sound awesome - as good as I can remember them sounding a few years back when there wasn't a spec motor. It was great that Honda, Toyota, and Cosworth all fought for horsepower supremecy. And the same goes for the battles on the chassis side of the equation where we had Lola, Reynard, Swift, and March before that.
It's too bad that we don't seem to be able to sustain two open wheel series here in the U.S. But back before spoiled and old-money backed Tony George came to float his ego with the IRL series, Champ car was a great show. But now, nobody cares anymore about open-wheel racing and now we don't have a choice - well we do actually, it's either IRL or nothing. So thank Tony for spending his family's money to make the choice for us. I'll take F1 reruns before I watch an IRL circus event.
Champ Car R.I.P.

Thanks for posting the pictures, it is a sad day in American motorsports to have the Earl the last one standing.
If you have more of the pics of the vintage cars, could you post those? I love the pic of Servia's Telefonica Renard/ Toyota.
To all those who do not understand the CART/Champ Car fans dismay with the "merger", imagine if Honda went out of business and was bought by Ford. Ford comes in and promptly cancels all of Honda's cars and only sells rebadged Fords under the Honda name. They would sell the cars as Hondas and advertise them as Hondas, but the quality of the product would be that of a Ford. I would think that most Honda enthusiasts would not buy into this scam, as Champ Car fans are not buying into the IRL.

Congrats to Highcroft Racing, winning the 2nd P2 victory for Acura and a 2nd consecutive 3rd overall!
