help integra stoped on me
i was driving and i heard a dump sound, and then the clutch was hard to press down. finally it went down and the car wouldn't go into gear, so i turned it off and the shift went into gear with out me pressing the clutch, the car drive a little but had a slow grinding noise, the tow truck man said the axles might have went.help me out fellaz.
Are you mechanically inclined at all? If yes, start taking stuff apart and checking. Check for axles, clutch fuild, clutch fluid leaks. If that doesn't turn up anything, take out your trans and see what's happened.
if you are not mechanically inclined, stop checking this thread and take your car to a mechanic's for the truth instead of our speculation.

First of all, tow truck driver's don't usually know ANYTHING. They are just there to drive the truck. A busted axle wouldn't be the source of this problem. Since it made a noise, it wouldn't be any clutch fluid problems or master/slave cylinder either. This is also reinforced because it wouldn't be hard to push down if there was no fluid.
Why you wouldn't be able to put it into gear is because the clutch isn't disengaging. I would say that one of the springs on the clutch popped off and that's causing your problem. Good luck!

Tow truck drivers are pretty knowledgable, they do know a bit about cars, I remember when my saturn's electricity got cut off when the security feature went on. He knew exactly what to do and saved me some money. I
would just say pull your whole motor, I find it less back breaking to do this, and take off the tranny. Check the throwout bearing, if it's secure in its spot then its fine. If it wants to slide right off, then go buy a new one and replace it. Make sure it doesn't want to pop out after you put it in. And checking your fluids doesn't hurt. Just add more and bleed. Doing this before pulling the motor might save a lot more time.
