what's up on 95 Prelude pops out of 3rd gear??
Something i did, just replaced the engine in a 95 Prelude which wasn't running before I picked it up, so I have no idea whether this problem is new or existed
before.
I will say I had to adjust the clutch pedal so that the clutch wasn't
right at the bottom of the pedal. All other gears appear to be fine,
and it goes into gear OK, but pops right back out. If I try to hold
the stick in 3rd gear and release the clutch, it will grind.
Any ideas?

Synchro's are going out. You can try GM synchro mesh but once it starts popping out of gear you can pretty much bet that you'll need to replace that gear.
i just got done taking apart by buddies tranny from his 93 civic.
he had the same problem, if he didnt hold it in 3rd it would pop out.
when we looked at the shift fork the 3rd gear part was busted.
syncro is possible but im going to bet its the shift fork

its good to see another UT member here with a prelude....most of the UT members are civic/integra owners
