clutch grabbing mad quick.. someone help.. or school me on why its ok lol
ok.. i put a new transmissin in my integra and now the clutch grabs like an inch or maybe 1.5 inches from the floor.. it grabs right away.. but it didnt when my old transmission was on there.. now when i changed the trans i didnt adjust/[freak]with the clutch or flywheel or anything but i did bleed the clutch lines.. is there something wrong? there doesnt seem to be ALOT of pressure in the pedal but it does come all the way back to the top.. i havent driven that many different manual hondas so im not sure what its supposed to feel like i just remember before the new transmission the pedal would come out agood couple few inches before the clutch engaged... it doesnt exactly slide into first either which makes me think that maybe its not disengaging all the way when the clutch is all the way to the floor.. it is a ky clutches stage one clutch... someone please shed some light on this for me.. i am still learning and appreciate anyons insight..
edit - also i wanted to say that there is suffiient pressure to push the pedal back alll the way to the top.. and i changed the fluid in the tranny also..

From your description i would say thats not right. You should only have about an inch of freeplay before the clutch begins to dissengag. In other words when pressing on the clutch pedal you should only have to press it 1 inch before you feel pressure from the plate.
i have to push it all the way to the floor almost.. but i just checked and there is pressure pushing it all the way to the top.
my '95 integra gsr clutch was the same way, right off the floor and the clutch was engaging. seeing as the transmission in that car had a bad 2nd gear grind and minor grinding in 3rd i would say the clutch is probably slipping even with the pedal to the floor. I can't help you on what would cause it but i would get it checked out before ur gears go out.
btw mine grabbed like 1 cm off the floor, i didn't even have an inch or anywhere close.

yea iono if it is an inch i have a hard time estimating that with my foot lol.. but its not much i cn say that for sure...
I mentioned freeplay as regarding to the amount of play prior before the clutch is dissengaged when PRESSING on the pedal. Engaged= foot off the pedal Disengaged= foot pressing on pedal. Gives you kind of a reference of where the engagement point should be. Both my gf's and my DB7 integras and also my DC have hydraulic trans and have the proper amount of freeplay and begin engaging bout half way up the travel of the pedal. Just shooting some info out there for something to check to see if its within spec.
Also noticed you said the pedal feels kind of soft, possibly air in the system or even a leak. Have you inspected the slave cylinder?
