trans how much????
yea i have a felling my trans is guan go out on me i notice for the last couple weeks that when i shift from park to drive the car jerks or studders, could this be the trans going or sum thing else its a 1997 accord LX with only 72,657 miles that seems like not that many miles for an automatic tran to be going out, so if any 1 has any ideas pliz tell me
Sounds like the transmission to me. My '02 Accord's tranny starting going out at about 90k. Apparently Accord auto transmissions are known to have that issue, at least for my gen. My mechanic charged me 1,000 for a rebuilt engine which included labor. Mine would SEVERELY just jerk and it sounds like you had the same issue I did.
My mechanic also recommended changing the transmission oil every 15,000 miles to lengthen the life of the transmission.

Unless your motor is fully built, the affects are not going to be noticable.
Just because your tranny jerks a little bit from Park to Drive doesnt mean its going out. Try changing your fluid first.. If that doesnt help, look into other options.
Rebuilds or swaps should be the last resort because of the costs..Unless you have a bunch of money to play with.

i want to clarify this.. 94-97 accord have bulletproof trans 99 percent of the time.. 156k and not one problem with my tranny i change fluid when im suppose to..
ALSO 5th gen ( 94-97) are known to jerk and stuff when shifting its just normal
try changing ur tranny fluid with Honda ATF and nothing else, see if that helps.. i think it suppose to be changed ever 30k miles if im not mistaken, just take out the stick by the tranny on the passanger side (when u face the window) and see if its a pinkish

of course its a must have on a full built ... but when trans fluid gets too hot and theres slight slipping ... my auto would do that in my harsh driving days ...
94 -97 models have the tans cooling lines on the radiator(at least the vtec models do anyway) but unlike the 90-93 they dont have the lines coming off the back of the motor
