my friend has a pair of the type R (knock offs the black with red stitching ones) they are the biggest piece of crap ever.. it is so flimsy like it has back to back play on the back support part.. the stitching and material was pretty good thought but the overall built quality of the seats are crap .. he is also making 400whp so everytime he shifts gears the car sags the seat back so far i cant even explain it ( its really bad with harnesses )

Were they NRG type R knockoffs? Or noname knockoffs?
NRG does make some pretty good stuff - namely steering wheels and QRs.

Honestly, the only thing i would buy from NRG, would be the quick release and lock. I wouldn't trust anything, especially my life, to a product that could potentially fail in the event of a major accident.

i agree with you 100%. but you also might want to think about whos to say that a recaro wont fail. theres a difference between a crappy seat and a failing seat. you could have gotten a "lemon" seat from say recaro and it could fail in a accident. chances are it wont happen, but hey you never know.

NRG replicas obviously or else what i posted would have absolutely nothing to do with what OP's topic was.. (they were like 300 with the sliders for a pair)
well thanks robble for the input that was really helpful.

1. they are inexpensive like WOAH
&
2. i had a change of heart about getting these seat, not feeling them anymore.
