Default 22mm rear sway bar w/ no front sway bar

I have a 98 hatch so it didn't come with any sway bars stock. I'm planning to install a mfactory rear sway bar soon, should I also get a front bar? or its going to be alright?

thanks

It will be "alright", in terms of not causing dangerous problems or anything.

However, depending on your use of the car and desired handling behavior, a front bar may or may not be beneficial.

If you're just looking to reduce body roll on a street car, install the rear bar and see how it feels. If you still want less roll, consider a front bar, or increasing spring rates.

Every car and every driver is a little different. I think there is only one perfect setup for any given car on a given venue, but that written, give it a try. I drove a 1981 Ford Fiesta that had a rear bar only. The car went where is was pointed...meaning, it did what I asked it, exactly with zero stupid factor built in. The car required a lot of attention, but it rewarded attention. It would also spit on my grave the moment my concentration dropped. ...165hp and 1,750 lbs...it was a rip!

Try it, and test it carefully, especially on public roads.

My 98 Civic Ex Coupe feels very neutral & nimble with the stock 22mm front sway bar and 22mm rear ITR sway bar. I'm also on Koni Yellows with custom rate Ground Controls, (450f/400r).
