Ok, I have the OBD-1 EVAP Purge Valve that goes on the back of the manifold. Im using a OBD-1 thermostat temp sensor plug for the valve...
My 88 SI has 4 wires going to the EVAP Purge Valve on the firewall.
My manual says that one of the wires go to the STARTING CHARGING SYSTEM?
I know there are BARRED OBD-1 B16's here in Ca, I need help...
I know the Green wire goes to the ECU, and the BLACK wire is the ground for the EVAP...
Whats the other two wires for? Do I need them? Thanks Alex

I found this, but im not fully understanding it...
"For the purge valve, you will need to extend the wires to valve on the driver's side of the intake manifold. If you have an SI, you will need to run a hot (in start/run) wire to the valve. Connect this wire to the yellow/black wire on the plug for the solenoid. Connect the other wire to the existing lead to the ECU. This is not a problem with DPFI or HF models, as they already have a hot wire going to the solenoid (The ECU grounds it rather than sending power to it)."

You need to run a wire from the fusebox to the solenoid that has power only the key is in the "on/run" position.
The ecu switches the power via a ground switch. Which is on the ground side of the circut. So what you are doing is providing power to the solenoid.
It seems the Si doesn't have this wire run but the HF and the other one does.
So extend the wires about 6-8 inches so the connector will reach the manifold mounting position.
Just curious...Did you have the one on the firewall hooked up and the ref said that you have to use the one on the manifold?

Id use the grn/blk wires. Cut the other 2 wires back and tape over them.
Mount your new obd1 purge valve and extend the grn/blk wires as necessary to reach it.
Use my old crx here as reference. Take off all unused sensors on your firewall like the MAP and purge solenoids.
