ok, 89 CRX Si with a ZC motor and Teg ECU. Leaving my friends house on our way to the track and after a stop I punched it. Great through 1st and second, shut down around 55 and went to third. It acted like it was out of gas or spark. Coasting into a gas station it was flashing 4 and 8. After starting it the light didn't come on, but when I started pullling out I pulled over again and it was just code 4. I got it home. Now heres the thing, can I replace just this sensor or do I have to do the whole assembly? need to know so I can order the part since I'll be out of town tomorrow thru Sunday. Its raining now so I can't test per Helms.

cliff notes: 4 and 8, but only after trying to drive out. Can't do more than 10% throttle. Do I do the whole dist assembly or just the sensor?

 

Are you sure you wired the crank angle sensor right? When you rewired the distributor plug for the externa sensor, did you reverse the two white wires? (I don't think it'll even start with these reversed, but can't remember for sure.)

Its been running now for about 3 months. The wiring should be fine. Its dark out now and was raining when I got it home so I didn't get to see. what color is the wire to that sensor?
