Electronic Boost Controller hook up

Electronic Boost Controller hook up
Does anyone have pics of an electronic boost controller hook up on a external waste gate. I heard you have to hook up the two vacuum ports. I know the top port is for the electronic hook up i dont know why i have to hook up the bottom one. I am a bit confused so would like a little help with this.
