Default How do I adjust my coilovers.

I have a set of Function Form 2 coilovers and I am about to install them on my EJ.

Question is how do I adjust them once they are installed? They have 3 rings and I have a tool.

the lower portion is what adjusts ride height. the top (which will compress your spring) adjusts preload.

to adjust the ride height, thread the bottom spanner up, and follow with the lower shock tube. just think about it for a second. if the bottom piece goes up, your car goes lower.

How am I supposed to follow with the lower shock tube? If i am holding it in my hand then yes it will adjust, but not when the rears are bolted to my LCA's and the fronts are sitting tight.

the "tool" you have is for adjusting ride height. once they're installed yoiu can use this tool to turn the red ring under the spring to adjust your height higher or lower. the lower the ring, your car will be lower and the higher the ring, your car will be higher. donno how to make it any simpler for you.

ps. don't know about your coilovers but mines had 2 "rings" that you're supposed to lock them into each other when you're done adjusting it.

Install them on the car and bolt everything up but don't tighten anything except the 14mm nuts on the top mount, that attach the shocks to the chassis. With the car on jack stands, tighten up the spring perch until there is no up and down play in the spring, but you can still spin the spring easily with your hand. Then lock the spring perch and the collar underneath it against each other as tight as you can get them. Loosen the lower most collar so that there is some space between it and the lower mount. Use the included wrench(es) to adjust height: By turning either the spring perch or the collar below it, you will be raising or lowering the ride height. Turn the spring perch clockwise to lower the ride height; turn the collar below spring perch counter-clockwise to raise the ride height. Spinning either one should also turn the entire shock body. Essentially what you are doing here is the same thing that you are doing when the shocks are off the car - moving the shock body up and down within the lower mount. You are not compressing or uncompressing the spring at all, nor should you ever be.
