Clutch problem
I own a '95 Honda Accord EX. A couple of days ago my free play area on my clutch went from an inch to about 2 or 3 inches. I push my clutch all the way to the floor and I still can't get my stick shift in gear. I heard something about how you can change the free play amount on your clutch. Anybody know what's up? Thanks.

My guess is you have a leak in the hydraulic system somewhere.
Check the fluid level of the reservoir. Also check under the dash along the firewall near the clutch pedal, see if you have any fluid leaking in there. Then check on the front of the transmission at the slave cylinder, see if any fluid is leaking there.

Its highly unlikely, but check to see if an adjustment screw has come loose or something broke down where your clutch pedal connects to the master cylinder under the dash. If it did, you might just be pushing against the return spring.
Again, unlikely so check the hydraulic system for leaks

It may be something as simple as a loose bolt. Check behind the clutch pedal, there should be a bolt connecting the pedal to the clutch master cylinder, that may be loose or out completely, if so, put it back in and it should have a cotter pin on one end to hold it in place.
You can also adjust the play of the pedal by rotating the shaft that comes out of the clutch master cylinder, a regular wrench will do the trick.

I'm with TouringAccord, leak in the system. I don't think there is enough adjustement range to correct several inches of free play. Stick your head under the dash and look where the rod comes through the firewall to see if it has fluid leaking on it. My '90 was leaking for a while, but didn't really show up on the firewall (carpet got ugly under the floor mat though). New clutch master cylinder did the trick (replaced the slave cylinder a few years ago).
