AEM UGEO and Ostrich quick tuning question...
Question, My buddy has an AEM UGEO wideband setup, He agreed to let me borrow his gauge so that I can tune my car (Ostrich and Crome) and then return it to him when Im done. If i buy a wideband O2 sensor (just the sensor, no electronics) can i just plug this into the gauge during tuning and then pull the gauge out, leaving the wideband O2 sensor leads hangin (with he factory O2 installed and into the ECU as normal)? Or are there separate electronics that also need to come over? I can't afford a complete wideband setup at this time and would really like to use one for tuning!
You can buy the O2 sensor for the AEM separately. I think they're like $60 bucks from Summit. That way you wont be cutting off his plug connector. You didn't think about that.
I would just get your own. They're only $260 from ebay and worth every penny. They can work with most stock ECU's (not the federal VX ECU as I found out). And they have a switchable output for the more capable standalones.

You'll need the o2 sensor and a wiring harness, unless he wants to cut those wires for you...
I would most definitely get one when you can afford it. I have one and was able to squeeze 38 MPG out of my turbo Integra by paying attention to the AFR.

the AEM wideband is a 3 piece if im not mistaken..a lower half which is the o2 sensor and plug...and the top half..which is the plug from the 02 sensor to the gauge..and the gauge..theres no needing to cut anything..everything plugs..if you buy the wideband o2 sensor all you need to do is get his top half..which would be the gauge and the harness from the gauge to the o2 sensor..and you're good to go..just wire up your power and ground and you're good..
