This past weekend NorCal HC had its' 5th and 6th round of the 2008 season. Round 4 had ended with one of the HC racers have a pretty bad crash, he credits his saftey gear for saving him, we were all a little nervous to get on track.

H1 was going to be short Brandon kraus, and the Vanni's, but would see the return of Andrie Hartanto who had just finished the build of his 2007 Acura TSX. Mike Lock, Graham Downey, Devin Raynal and Bob Gill would round out the H1 racers for the weekend.

H2 saw 4 new comers to the class. Me (jimmy), Brain Z, and Austin Getty, and John A all ran H2 for the weekend with their H4 cars. John A had a mishap in saturday qualifing so he wasn't able to race the rest of the weekend. Congrats goes to Austin Getty for getting his license and have a clean first race!!

H2 also had Liam Downey, Chirs Smith who got his license last weekend but this was his first "official" race, Al Locket.

It was a super fun weekend, whish you guys could have been out there!

 

The GroupA race on Sunday was very entertaining to watch from the grandstand. The announcer was pretty funny too.

That green del sol goes like snot! ...and the shut-the-door move the spoon rsx put on the second place car (dodge SRT4 I think?) on the outside of T10 was like....what? - I think that was US Touring Car class.

Good show out there guys!

Thanks, that was my favorite move of the race. 2nd to last lap and I had just passed the Neon for the lead. I had to get him comitted before I pinned him to the outside. Otherwise he would have backed off too soon and had a run on me for T11. There were 2 backmarker spec Miatas in front of us. I could have powered around one of them before the apex but I would not have been able to avoid the lead Miata if he made anykind of off line move. I though it was safer to back off and fight it out with the Neon.

ummm ya, if you watch Z's video, and look in front of the red car (me, brianZ, and the red car [driven by Liam] were all in the same class) he was doing some pretty decent blocking. And he had NO reason to be blocking and racing us, no one was withing 10 car lengths of him either direction. He was just dicking are race up. I really wasn't expecting him to go through the corner ~5mph slower then i normally take it.

A few different racers had issues with the same class cars the day before, they didn't learn. Not trying to single out the whole group, though as other in the class drove very respectful and still raced hard in their class.

Andy you need to get that crx rolling and come up and play. We have a bunch of H2 cars!

That's awesome man Viewing it from the grandstand, without knowing you backed off, it looked CRAZY! ......like two guys going at it through the hairiest corner of the track, both with their volume **** turned to 11 and wanting more cowbell!! Myself being just a lowly HPDE'er, what you guys did through there just doesn't "compute".

Jimmy, the mini close call in T1 looks just as doobid in car as it did from the grandstand. Sucks your car was overheating; you drove a helluva race!
