ok peoples post your solutions to fixing sway bar mounts.
Mine finally tore out last night with a24mm rear sway bar installed
I know how i think i will resolve the issue, but just looking at other solutions that might be better than what i am thinking.

by tore out, do you mean that the bar pulled the mounts so hard that it pulled the mounting bolts in two parts?
is this your front or rear sway bar?
is this a 4th gen?

I had mine brackets welded to the chasi. After that the links gone bad. So I bought a nice set of adjustable ones like these from AWR Racing for Protege.

And slightly modified the knuckle to fit it.
No problems since.

do you have pics of this on the car ?
4th gen prelude.
where the swaybar L bracket joins the chassis, the two nuts in the chassis have been pulled completely out.
just seeing what i can do to remedy the siutation, and what ways people have resovled the issue

You should probably have something welded in at this point, but I bolted in some Progress mounts before I had any problems:

Sorry I only have old picture after the sway bar install. I went with Addco 1" solid sway bar and unfortunately, they don't come with the brackets like Progress. After I riped off the screws like you did, I didn't know where to get a better brackets so I just welded the stock ones similar way as pictured above.
mine didnt rip off of the chasis...the L bracket broke in half. got a new one from honda for 12 bucks. i didnt kno this happened to other people as well.
ludecz...how do u like ur addco bar? have u ever had anything else? i have one too and i guess i like it...but i dont have anything to compare it to.

How's this?

They are MUCH beefier and they also use 3 bolts per side to the frame compared to the stock brackets which use 2 bolts.

I can only compare it to the stock one, which is dramatic difference. It helped me a lot with understeer.

is it possible to buy the progress mounts without buying the bar??
mine cracked around the nuts on my old lude but i caught it before it ripped out...i just made a plate with 2 holes for the bolts and welded it on and it held fine

Did you see Steve's setup on PA? I like how he's gone about it but finding that parts I believe would be a little tricky..
I'm having the damaged part of the frame completly cut out and a plate re-welded back in its place. Then having the stock L bracket bolted back on..
I dont have the funds to do anything aftermarket and this seems like the best way to go about fixing the issue as apposed to just patching it up..
