Expo 8 Vendors/Photographers who want Media Credentials
A few people have asked about being a vendor at the Expo and/or a Photographer.
For Vendors, there is a vendor fee that VIR charges, which is $200, if you will be selling items at the expo. This fee is to protect VIR's contracted vendors (CDOC or whatever it is and their photography vendor that sells posters, t-shirts, etc). Low key selling, or having people buy in advance and delivering the product at expo doesn't count as being a vendor at VIR IMO, but be forewarned that VIR officials *may* approach you.
If you plan on making it really obvious that you are selling product at the event (ie, plan on setting up a table/booth or something), then pay the fee up front since VIR may not take kindly to that.
Photographers: If you are staying in the public areas, you can skip the rest of this. If you want a "media pass" to get into the corner stations, on the track side of fences, etc (you will have to go where VIR allows you, you can't just go anywhere you want even with credentials) you have to contact me SOON with a letter of assignment from your editor at a VALID publication. VIR checks these, so faking them will just make us look bad and could result in you being barred from the event/premises. If you do shoot for a legitimate newspaper, magazine, e-zine, etc and can get a letter of assignment, send them to me SOON. Currently the only Photographers that I have on a list to get extra access is an event photographer to document the event for future marketing purposes of ITRCA, LLC and the ITRCA ITR Expo. (assuming there is one

Yeah I can't justify blowing the $200 on top of what i'm already dumping for this shindig.... I guess I'll just stay where I'm allowed.
If you could fanangle something with the fake ITRCA LLC that'd be nice, you know. but no worries.

I've wondered why we don't partner with an NSX club and make it a dual meet. Just a thought.
