Default suspension ?'s

Basically i'm looking for input on which suspension would suit my needs. Basically i want to have something thats semi comfortable being that it will be put on my dd. I also want to give the car a considerable drop (2.5"-3"). Would a tein basic coil over setup be the way to go? Bear in mind that i don't plan on taking my car to a track. I'm not looking for the tightest auto x suspension. I just want decent handling for around town, and something that will provide great ride quality--something that won't bottom out or slam over every bump, but will still provide a "slammed look". sorry if this sounds like a noob ?, i've searched and came up with some good info, but i want to hear some first hand input.

So what car do you have?

You cant have all the things you want, pick 1.....There is no such thing as a "slammed LOOK" its either Slammed or its not.

Slammed doesn't = great ride quality. slammed implies too little suspension travel, high springs rates - to keep parts from crashing into one another, and strong damping rates to control the springs.

Megan??? you can lower the car - to a point - without affecting suspension stroke. There may be a few more manufactuers who design their kits with this type of adjustability. It is a great concept, but slamming is not...there are more than a few gemotric considerations to fight with when the ride height becomes too low. Then, I humbly submit, you are in the game for looks only...

8k/6k springs from tein basics might be too bumpy for you. i had 10k/8k omnipowers and i removed them 3 days later and bought koni/gc because they were soooo stiff.
right now im at 6.4k/4.5k or 350/250 and its PERFECT! i love this setup so much, it is only slightly stiffer than stock when you have the dampening to full soft.

look into koni/gc. they go for about 800 and it comes with lifetime warranty

ok maybe slammed was the wrong choice of wording. first off the suspension will go on a dc2 chassis.

basically my question is which type of suspension would give me a comfortable ride quality as a daily driver if i were to drop the car say 2.5"-3".. because my tokico blue/ground control setup sure isn't doing the job.

again i'm prepared to be flamed. i'm a noob when it comes to suspension. im just researching my options and becoming more familiar with what is out there.

how much of a drop are you sitting on with your koni/gc setup?

A 3" drop is huge!!! You cannot obtain that goal without running into geometry problems. I'll second the GC kit, it is a great kit if setup properly. It is inexpensive, designed well, easy to install. The rates described by slikz714 are the rates we used on my son's 99 Si.

I used 400# front and 600# rear with custom valaved double adjustable Konis when I owned the car. The suspension is completely new at this point, completely!

also, if you have a double wishboe car, a 3" drop may allow the upper control arms to slam into the shock towers.
