Type R Oil pump and water pump on a LS. Timing Belt?
Ok I'm building an LS (B18a) motor for turbo, I have a Type R/GSR water Pump and a Type R oil pump. Now I know the water pump has 22 teeth and differs from the LS water pump. I started the motor with a GSR timing belt and the timing belt almost jumped a tooth
Cut off the motor...I'm lost. Yes I have a new tensioner and Yes I've searched I'm getting conflicting results. Some say you have to use the GSR timing belt and some you can't use the GSR timing belt. HELP!!

no bro ur lame.
all b series oil pumps are interchangeable. That means the itr and the ls use the same pump.
if you change your water pump to a VTEC water pump then be sure to change the timing belt to a vtec belt.
vtec= gsr, itr
non vtec = ls, rs
if you use an ls, rs water pump, then use an ls,rs timing belt.

match the belt with the pump ls pump ls belt gsr pump gsr belt, be sure to put tension on the belt by pushing on the tensior with a pry bar or something of that sort...!
