Default Just Swapped My Factory Axle Back Section Back In...

My god I can hear again! I always liked the sound of that Comptech muffler, but I didnt realize it was THAT loud (Inside the car at least). I was trying to find the source of an annoying rattle that I swore was coming from inside the Comptech muffler. After the swap I found out it was just a loose heat shield. I dont know how I missed it, cause I inspected the entire exhaust from the header back like 3 times. Oh well. Good news is I like the factory exhaust note better. No noticable power loss either.

So what are you going to do with your comptech catback? I didn't think the comptech piece was that much louder than stock.

I know what you mean. when i purchased my ITR, it came with a full comptech exhaust system.. from header to catback. I couldn't stand the noise level (it was LOUD), so I put the stock muffler back on. what a significant difference! I like the stock muffler... very quiet and flows decently.

I will one day probably put the Comptech peice back on. I did like the sound it made. I was just so used to it that a little change was good.....for now Same with my spoiler being removed. I liked it for a few weeks, but its back on now. And I'll probably take it off again someday down the road.

not me. sold the axle back soon after I took it off.

as a side note, comptech does sell an insert for the tip which is supposed to lower the sound level.

know what you mean about changing stuff around.... for me, it's wheels and tires.

good luck with your car... and have fun!
