Default Faulty Fuel Pressure Regulator

Not sure how many of you remember my post about cold hard starts after i change my fuel rail and FPR. but I think I've finally narrowed it down.

I believe it's my AEM FPR. Would a faulty FPR make it difficult to start but run fine after it's been started?

The reason I ask is this.......if you look at the damn AEM fpr....the vacuum hose nozzle points to 12 o'clock which bends the vacuum hose against the upper strut bar. Well I attempted to change this position by undoing the bolts and twisting it to the 2 o'clock position. Well after I did this (never thought of it before now) thats when I started having tons of problems. So lets say the diaphram or the spring inside is damaged, will this be the culprit of my problems?

what do you think????

Do you have a FP guage? When you turn the key but don't start, the engine primes. Fuel pressure goes up around 5 psi above what you have it set at momentarily, then backs down to normal. I forget how the needle acts when you actually start the car. But it moves a little then stays at the set fuel pressure. If it does all that then the FPR is doing its job.
