Default intercooler size

the last piece , then ill have myself a turbo d. i was wondering what size intercooler should i get. its a 96 civic ex d16y8.
i know i will have to do some cutting thats no problem considerin were i work

stock block just a turbo i dont know mabe around 200 or 220

Look for something like a JRC 5 or 6", a CCA 6" or even an old Drag intercooler. You dont need to get a 3" thick core, but it does leave room for future upgrading generally.

General measurements: 28x6x2.5 (LxHxW)

JRC doesn't make intercoolers anymore does he... or did he start up again

I dont think so, but you can still find them floating around every once in a while. I've always wanted a JRC 8" after i had my 6", but i couldnt find one until the day AFTER i bought my new Spearco...thats just my luck though

That's much too large for your goals. If you go with an intercooler that's too big, you'll incur more lag than necessary since you'll have to fill the air void inside the intercooler. I dont know if you checked the link i put above or not, but one more time...
