Default AM I GOING CRAZY? (im hearing strange noises in my "head")

i just built my first motor (b20z2) and i adjusted the valves at .008mm intake and .016mm exhaust. motor runs perfect but the head is WAY too loud. sounds like the rocker arms are as lose as can be. any suggestions. thanks

I do not know the stock specs for that engine offhand. But if that clearances are in inches, not mm, the 0.016" seems large. Have you looked in the Helm manual?

From page 6-3 of that manual:
Intake: 0.003-0.005"
Exhaust: 0.006-0.008"

Your mm specs are correct, but did you use metric feeler gauges or did you adjust them to inches?

the feelers i used say

.008 (.203)
.010 (.254) for the intake

.016 (.406)
.018 (.457) on exhaust.

dont know if that answers your question.

The first number is inches. The number in parentheses is mm. Your valves are too loose. It's an easy fix.
