6th gen suspension
i want to lower my ride, what kind of suspension setup should i go with? should i start with springs or coilovers? should i swap out my shocks right away or is it ok to hang onto them for now? as far as springs, should i just stick with the name brands like Eibach or H&R (heard they were the same, but heard not anymore)? or if i go with coilovers, how's ground controls?? how bad is my camber going to be?? basically it's my first time lowering anything so i want to do it right the first time, give me your opinions , the help is appreciated

depends on what you want out of your ride... race .. daily driver.. rough.. smooth.. there are a lot of factors.. most say go Koni yellows and ground control... some say skunk2 are good

its my daily driver and i want it to be smooth, so the ground control coilovers with koni yellows?? the yellow konis are the adjustables right? or is it the blue?

Get KYB AGX's. They are less expensive and perform just as well in almost every condition.

now as far as camber...is it going to be that bad? should i consider a camber kit in the future??

Go ahead and get a camber kit so you wont kill your front tires. I highly recommend you spring for it in the beginning, so it can all be put on at once.
croun control coilovers wont be good for everyday driving..the spring rate is linear, not progressive so the ride will be more harsh. Also, agx does offer shock for 6th gen and koni yellows will be way too harsh, even on the softest setting, TRUST ME! Try H&R lowering springs with Tokico Blue's, that probably your best compromise for performance and ride quality.
KYB does make shocks for the 6th gen, but they are the GR-2, not the AGX. they just came out and I havn't seen or heard anyone with them yet. other than that you're choices are Koni adjustable-yellows (the best IMO), tokico Illumina adjustables, tokico blue non-adjustable.
I wouldn't just go out and get coilovers unless you think you will be changing the ride hight around. thats really the only advantage they offer over a spring/shock combo. at least until you get into the super expensive, multi adjustable ones, like the tanabe sustecs.
whatever you do, go with a name brand. I know that a lot of people will say that they have friend with such and such brand-x coilovers they bought for $50 on ebay and they are fine but honestly, I think they just got lucky. also ride quality is a very subjective thing. My Cadillac driving grandmother would think a BMW has a really harsh ride for example. based on what I see on the street, some people like the bouncey ride, personally, it makes me vomit.
Oh yeah and read this, its a really good FAQ for somebody who is a n00b. handles all the basics

If you want some 6th gen specific advice, ask me. i'm going to be installing springs/shocks on my 99 friday. Eibach Pro-kits and Koni yellows

this guy eh! why u gotz to be so technical...so what if i hit da wrong key!
For tha dude who initially asked the question....man it all depends if your gonna go to the TRACK! cuz if you aint then koni yellow's are gonna be way too harsh...at the softest setting its still more harsh than tokico blue's (trust me i know). Thats why alot of people dog tokico blue, but hey if its an everyday driver with pretty damn good performance with livable ride go with progressive springs (H&R) and non adjustables ie tokico blues. But if you wanna be hardcore vin diesel then go for the gusto.

If you go to Accordv6.com, there is a group buy going on with the Tein SS coilovers. they usually go for 1100 retail, but the group buy is going to hopefully bring it down to 850 or so. These are fully height adjustable plus 16 way damper adjustable. I figured if H&R running 200 or so, plus the KYB, or Koni in the range of 400-600, might as well..... but just another option. That or you can get the Apex'i coilovers for 850 or so.
