Default rebuild cost of a YS1

I have a 92-93 integra transmission, a YS1, and i would like to rebuild it. What parts wear out making the transmission sloppy? I want a nice tight transmission, with the gears where they should be. My plan is to swap some 94+ GSR gears into it and also buy an OBX LSD. anyone ever rebuild a trans? how bad are parts from the dealer? any parts i should replace that are not obvious?

thanks ahead of time.

That will be pretty expensive especially if you dont know anybody at the dealer to get a descent price. Good luck though with the rebuild.

about $200 for case bearings + seals. $100 for diff bearings. shifter forks should be replaced $40 each x3. synchro assemblies are $150 each x3. depends on how in depth you want to do the rebuild. it gets expensive really fast if you want to do it right.

ok I had a similar question not to jack the thread or anything but I have a ys1 tranny also from a 92 integra ls. So am I right in thinking that I can rebuild it with Gsr gears and synchos.

Oh by the way I called gearspeed last week and they wanted 1900 to rebuild a GSR tranny. He said that was he's stage one with the carbon fiber synchos. But you can buy a brand new type r tranny with lsd for that price.

On homemadeturbo.com I know there's a guy under the name mistabone who rebuilds them if you ship them to him. Might want to PM him for some info on there. Great homemade **** site if you aren't on there.

Now that's a new one.

ys1 case is the same internally as the hydro cases.

I am in the same boat with my tranny. I have a YS1 LS tranny in good condition. It has slight top rpm grind in 3rd gear. I was thinking about going hydro just because its newer. My plans are to buy a GSR trans from Hmotors for $700, innovative motor mounts and cable to hydro actuator for around $300-350 and maybe a new clutch. comes out to around 1100-1200 for gsr hydro trans and brand new motor mounts at the same time.

Or buying a GSR tranny in very good condition and swapping the gears into my tranny now. I think either way, it will come out almost the same in price and I think I will just go with a new hydro and motor mounts. What do you guys think ?
