Type-R VS Pontiac GTP Anyone Here?
I talk to alot of Grand Prix owners over on ClubGP because an old friend of mine had a GTP once, and he invited me there. I started out just keeping the clueless in check when it came to Honda's, but they really are a cool group for the most part so Ive stuck around just to talk cars in general. I found this on there this morning though. Was it anyone here?
I was hanging out around 13 and woodward messing around with some mustangs, and notice this Clean black Integra (No badging, no stickers, no fart can... ect) doing the same. We got a chance to line up, and we seemed to be dead even up to around 80, with me pulling slightly. We lined back up, and raced from a 30 roll. He pulled off the downshift, but I caught and passed him by 90.
We pulled off and I talked to the guy. He has a De-badged Type-R, not blower, turbo, or nitrous. He said he was making 190 hp at the wheels, and the car weighed in at around 2700 lbs. Said his best 1/4 mile time was a 13.5 @ 102, running drag radials. Pretty cool guy, and a nice car!

If my friend had never got a GTP then I would still probably be blind to the muscle of these cars. They arent exactly all around terrors, but in stoplight encounters.....watch your back. In my opinion the Pontiac GTP's/Buick Regal GS'(or anything else with that supercharged 3800 series engine) are the about the best sleepers on the roads. Especially the 4 doors.

In my opinion the Pontiac GTP's/Buick Regal GS are the about the best sleepers on the roads. Especially the 4 doors.
i think Splat may have a conflicting opinion
rob- who wishes Acura would do some Loony toons characters in their commercials...

dude....hes got INTENSE rocker arms, i wouldnt mess with him...hahahaha
Oh and BTW, those rockers make a minumum of 20hp and 15ft. lbs. of torque on those motors...

That car sounds very familar..............Maybe this one??????? All but the part about the GTP pulling slighlty

Its not a red one is it? Theres a guy that post on ClubGP with the screenname "Animul" (I think) with a setup like that. I wanna say he hit 12's with NOS. The car still looked bone stock too.

I didn't think a type R with 190whp and drag radials could pull off a 13.5. That's one hell of a run.
13.53, 2.0 60ft 185whp 2400pds, JDM fd, he had the car weight wrong.Mattj

those thiings stock are low 15's. If anyones R cant get a low 15 then your slow!

I ran against one last year at Sacramento...they had removed one of the headlights and was running a mid-high 13...they passed me at 7/8 track 
The person in the GTP was very impressed with my car...I killed them on the reaction time and 60ft time...I ran a low 14 second time to their mid-high 13.
