For those of you attending Expo 8, will there be any R's staying in the alternate hotel? Just checking, because I called the Lodge at VIR, and they are all booked, and have a waiting list of 25. Due to the theft, I want to make sure there will be other R's in the parking lot.

Also, I would like to get in on the convoy coming up I-81. Someone in the convoy, please PM me with the details.

 

I'm pretty sure there will be other R's staying at the off site hotel, there were last year and nothing happened.

well i dotn have a res at VIR , so i prob will go to the other hotel , maybe camp out at VIR

but [freak] theives , i would kill someone for you as long as it was R related

The other hotels should be very safe. There were no issues last year. There will be people out in the lot all night long.

I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn in South Boston. Stayed there last year too.

Are you the female i see driving a PY in the Winchester area all the time ? AIM me if so...matt3117, I've been trying to figure out who it is for awhile, not many ITR owners in my area

 

I stayed at Sleep Inn which was about 15 min away from VIR. No problems with security as the lot was populated with mostly Rs anyways.

Where did you stay last year?

 

on an inflatable mattress on the floor of Jon D and Mugen Mike's room


my legs hung off the bottom from the knees down, but I was too drunk to care

 

I stayed at the offsite hotel last year.

I think there was a couple people outside all night on lawn chairs.

I plan on staying there again this year.

Yeah you won't have any problems at the sleepinn

 

I remember people doing Toda B installs in the motel parking lot at some ITR events, and others just wandering around being silly almost till the sun came up!

Should be safe.

That brings up my next question ,
How many people are bringing An RV, Or a trailer for their car , and then set up a bed in there ,

but basically the question is , how many people will be staying outside , or not in a hotel , and are there more than 1 camping area ?

me and the OP were talking a little bit about this last night , but we haven't figured everything out yet .
we Can NOT have campfires , correct?
sooo can i bring a small portable BBQ with me ?

and my next question is for the camping Guru's ,

What would i NEED to have , ( and some cool stuff id WANT to have also )
but , what do i need for camping , besides the obvious ;
Tent
Sleeping bag
pillows
maybe inflatable mattress
some flammable liquid ,
drinks
food


What else is good for camping , i haven't been out like that since i was in summer camp.
and i was like 7 years old , and the counselors pretty much had us covered , otherwise I've never been out camping in a tent or anything like that ;
i want to make this trip a bunch of firsts , first Expo , first camping trip . maybe a few more who knows

Well me and the guy and his gf are going and we will be setting up in the trailer and leaving the car outside.
So a 30 ft trailer is a good enough tent for me :-p

well thats what the rules say , but im sure we can bend the rules a lil bit with a portable bbq , im sure thats ok , and we can have a fire on that all night

 

bringing a grill is OK, just no camp fires! VIR will toss you out really fast!!!

I would suggest a small electric heater for the tent, it can get cold at night...
BUT getting electric to use is a first come first serve basis.
