Default PPG/Shopline : Dupont/Nason???????

correct me if i am wrong with it ok...

"PPG" is to "Shopline" as "Dupont is to "Nason" ????
i didnt put omni b/c supposedly shopline is the new omni yet they say better...

also Transtar, Clear in particular, is also made by dupont what are your thoughts on it...i sprayed it on a fender job i did and it turned out very sexy...

i am more interested in the ppg shopline and dupont nason...

I KNOW THERE ARE HIGHER AND BETTER QUALITY STUFF...PLEASE DO NOT POST THAT STUFF IN HERE...I'M TRYING TO HELP OTHERS AS WELL AS MYSELF SO THAT WE CAN STAY IN A BUDGETED AREA...THANKS...

i don't get what your trying to ask? but i can tell you that omni is ppg's lower line, in another word "generic" same as nason to du pont and dimension to sherwin Williams. and no transtar is not made by du pont. transtar is it's own brand of line. my opinion on transtar clear, yea i think it's one of the better generic clear out there if your on a budget imo but then again really it all comes down to personal preference

it's their low end line, you can call a bimmer 1 series a low end model of the brand but is it the same thing as the yaris to the toyota?

both are low end low buck alternative right?

Shopline is the budget PPG line offered by "platinum" PPG distributors. Some of the Shopline is re-labeled Omni, so Omni is pretty much equivalent, on lower end of the quality range. Depends on your opinion of "good" paint.

how does omni basecoat paint compare to dupont chroma base? are there any certain clear coats that are recommended to be used with omni/shopline paint?

^^THe chroma is nothing like omni, you cant even compare, it has exellent coverage and it sprays super easy. i only use chroma system bases and clears, ill use duponts glamour clear or hot hues vlear on occasion, and i use nason high build primer and etching primer, i jsut like how it covers compared to the chroma primer.

Just because you didn't get it doesn't mean anyone else did. This is a paint/body forum he's trying to inquire about a different kind of refinishing product compared to what he's been using. If you don't understand a thread that doesn't mean you have to make remarks implying his question is pointless. And as far as him "wasting" 5 minutes of your life, you're the moron who kept reading. Flame on somewhere else
