Did a novice autox class
...and it was awesome. It was my first everything, autox wise.
I learned a lot. I am trying to sign-up for the first event of the season next Sunday.
It was pouring rain; learned a lot about tire pressures. I went from 36psi front/33 rear to 34/33 (spun out) to 33/30 (got my lowest time).
I am not going to swap out or upgrade any parts until the end of the season. I figure I should learn with what I got; initially.

I think I misled you guys, I am far from stock. SM - b20 motor, itr transmission, ksports, 205/50/15 Gforce Sports on Kosei's.
There were first timers bringing already-prepped Miatas and Minis on Rcomps...

did my first and last events in 06! I want to get back out but I drive a crappy car which may not be suitable for "racing".
in my 2 events I finished dead last overall! lulz. I was being way too aggressive which feels fast but in reality just slows you down.
Plus I kept missing one cone and DQ'ed my runs.

Thats the most important thing. Alot of people blame the car and its parts for poor performance, when in reality 99% of the time its the driver.

Thanks, I'm probably the biggest variable, at least in the beginning. I had an excellent instructor, by just focusing on what he taught me was lowering my times. I will be signing up for level 2 class.

Andrew, I replaced the axle 2 days before the class, and it worked out perfectly! Thanks.

The accord does like decent shocks or springs to keep the roll down, it is very soft stock. But even still your not going to get any better as a driver sitting on the couch. Get to the event a little earlier and walk the course a few times, if you dnf every run you will most likely be dfl.

Agreed. I auto-x my accord regularly and love every second of it! Sure there are better cars to race out there, but I can afford it, so I run what ive got. To me, thats the beauty of auto-x!
