95 gsr fuel relay cutting out????
hello, im boosting a 95 gsr motor in a eg6 hatch. When i turn the key to the on position my fuel relay clicks like crazy or it will only let the fuel pump come on for a second or so. Its pretty weird because it only does it once in a while prefferably when its warm. I changed the fuel relay and i does the same thing. Also when the key is left on i get a humming noise from my iacv solenoid i changed that as well but same humming. Could the iacv solenoid cause the fuel relay to cut out or is that a completely different problem??

It sounds like a main relay going bad. I just had mine going bad two days agokl and did lots of research about it. Main Relay usually die when its extremely hot or there is a big change in temp from one day to another. Thats what happened two days ago in Upstate NY we went from 65 during one day to 34 the next. I get into my car try an start it and the fuel pump didn't turn on. Get a manual from Advance or Pepboys and find a section that shows you hot to test if main relay is bad. U just unplug it and jump two prongs turn the key to ON and see if your pump turns on, if it does then your relay is screwed. The clicking from main relay might be because of a bad contact inside the relay its called dry joint (try and search on google there is a bunch of write ups).
So there is two things you can do:
1) Get a new relay (the one that was soldered right from the factory) for about $40
2) Fix the relay by unsoldering it and then soldering it back up (thats what I did cuz I didn't want to spend $40) it fixed the problem 100%

Exactly, it runs great at night when its cooled down no problems and i did notice that when its hot in the day it acts up. Thanx for the info ill resolder it. Also do you happen to know why the aicv makes a humming noise when the key is left in the on position?
Ok, I just did it again because I didn't desoder it the first time and found out that if its not done right it will usually fail in about 90 days.
So since I work at RadioShack I grabbed a desoldering gun and redid the job in about 10min. The car starts perfectly.

Put your car in ON position
Turn the blower off (cuz sometimes something gets stuck in the blowe motor and it makes weird noises)
If the relay is making noices its usually because contacts on the phone is really bad but it still connects. The thing is Honda from factory designed crappy relays boxes and the relays are being held by the solder points themselves so after 10 years of use soldering points get dry joints and disconect, so relay turns on (when connection is good), then connection disconnects and thats how u get a buzzing relay.

Dam never mind
, it only worked for a couple of hours then started stuttering again. If its not the relay what else could it possibly be??
