Are you able to turn the alarm off when the battery is completely attached? My aftermarket alarm does that when I attach the battery, its basically resetting itself, or better yet, waking up to find the car has been intruded.

I would connect the battery, turn it off, and then see if it gives you any issues from that point onward. Thats if you can turn it off. If not, you might have to find the fuse for the battery to remove it until you can come up with some sort of viable explanation as to why this is happening.

alright thank you Conflicted,

I will try to find the fuse because I cannot turn the alarm on or off when the battery is attached. Just when i lock the car the alarm turns on and when i unlock it.. it turns off.

I'm not sure why this is happening. I found a thread with the same problem except it was happening when jump starting the car. So i'm not sure what to do. I checked the manual for alarm reset codes and i cannot find anything.

So i will try the fuse. Thanks again

Alright, i could not find the fuse for the alarm so i took out the fuse for the horn. But when i go to attach the negative cable it still makes a sizzle noise.

I connect the positive first and then the negative which is what you are suppose to do so i dont understand why it is doing this.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah it should be the positive first.

Just thought of this haha.

What if you take strands of wire, connect the positive lead of the old battery/connector and the negative, and connect them to the NEW battery then move the connectors to the new battery?

I'll illustrate

The green/blue being the extra wire, this way that when you remove the connectors from the old battery they don't lose power at all

well i searched around and found similar problems.

I couldnt find a fuse for the factory alarm so i took out the fuse for the horn.

So when i connected it just the lights were flashing and then i locked the car, unlocked it, locked it again and then once i unlocked another time it stopped. So i had to do that twice and then it was fixed.

Easy fix, i was just confused because my doors were unlocked the first time and i went to unlock it again and it didnt turn off.

Thanks muffinman, you were really helpful
