Okay guys im in the process of reverting my car to pretty much stock to pass state ref.

I put everything back to how it is supposed to be and fired the car up. For some unknown reason, the car idles at 2000+ (sometimes 4000+) RPM. Ive had idle problems in the past so i know about IACV and vacuum problems. I checked everything and everything seems to be right

Heres the weird part:
No matter what i do, i cant get the car lower than 2000 RPMs. I first checked my vacuum lines and found nothing. Then i checked for other types of vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner in every little crevice. Then i checked if the TB was closing correctly and it was doing its job.

At this point i just got mad...
So i made a custom aluminum blocking plate to block the IACV from sucking air and nothing!
I unplugged TPS sensor and still no difference (not to mention no CEL when it was unplugged)
I unplugged the MAP sensor and it threw a CEL, started running rich, and started sputtering, but not much change in idle!

I dont even know what to do anymore! I know i gotta re attach the IACV but i wanna address this problem first!

The ONLY thing I can think of is that my ECU was sitting on top of a shelf for about 2 months, but how could 2 months of sitting mess up an ECU?

 

might need new gaskets... or adjust your throttle

 

Yeah, try adjusting the idle with the throttle screw. Is the coolant level low? When engine is cool, check both the radiator and reservoir. Have you tried bleeding the cooling system of possible trapped air?

 

Idle screw was the first thing i checked, and i loosened the throttle cable until it was just hanging pretty much

Coolant level is full, but will try the bleeding now right now...

 

Wow, Problem Fixed, but i dont even know how...

I managed to come up on another throttle body and i decided to give it a shot

Sure enough after installing it, the idle went down to around 500 rpms and was on the brink of turning off, but then i uncovered the IACV and reconnected all the sensors and the car seems to be fine (for now at least)

Now lets see if i can pass ref!
