i tried to tighten, loosen, belt dressing everything still wont stop

 

is the baring in the alt going out? ive heard some of those sound just like a belt squeeling beofre

 

idk......i just did a swap had it on my b20b and it was ok swap to my gsr and it screams

 

try scuffin the belt with sand paper

 

Try REPLACING IT!! Jezuz.....can't be more than 15 dollars.

 

I have the same problem with my b20 vtec. i go through ALT. belts every six months. they are only like $8 at pep boys. Have no idea why but I like to think its the massive amount of tq I have. lol.

 

Might the PS or A/C belt instead be causing the noise?

 

its a brand new honda oem belt..........no ac or ps

MAke sure the Alt is on straight nd now off a bit, because if the belt sits on the pully a lil off its gonna whine as well as eat away the belt....i hada similar problem but for me it was cuz i was running a 2 grove pulley alt out of a Flatback instead of the 3 grove pulley Alt meant for SOHCs
