Im poor and cant afford the real deal. What paint should I use to get my 96-98 headlights to look as close as possible to the real ones? Pics would also be nice.
none. just leave em stock. it will be better if you ever get rid of them. plus they look better stock than some paint can black.
its a chrome/gunmetal tint that you cant duplicate. just keep saving for the real ones if you really want them.

EDIT: just noticed this was for 96-98's My DIY is for 99-00 headlights. the only difference is the reflector. I can't recall how it works on the 96-98's but i know JDM's dont have a place in the lense for our big gaudy reflectors.
DUPLICOLOR BLACK CHROME spray paint. they have a series of "anodized" looks and the black chrome is the EXACT color of OEM.
then go buy KRYLON CHROME metallic finish spray paint.
and a squeeze tube of clear silicon
bake the headlights at 215 for 4.5 minutes.
pry appart.
disassemble frame from lense
remove orange reflector, apply KRYLON chrome.
re-install reflectors
tape off the chrome dish surrounding the turn signal area.
wipe down the chrome frame with alcohol dry and apply ONE solid coat of the DUPLICOLOR paint.
allow to dry, then apply second SOLID coat. the stuff can blotch easily and by the time you try and add enough paint to smooth the blotches out, you have put too much on and they are too dark to pass as OEM.
allow FULL dry time.
move any OEM silicon resedue away from the inside of the lense. if it touches your newly painted frame it will pull the pant right off.
gently lay the pointed( < )end in the lense FIRST then push the other side down and screw in.
re assemble toss in the oven for 2-3 minutes and push the halves Back together and lock tabs down etc.
wait till it cools and apply clear silicon around the peramiter of the lense.
and your done.

i followed this process on my CRV headlights.
but i have done a few sets of 99-00. i don't have pictures of any of the civic ones.
my crv's are a coat too dark and i forgot to mask the turn signal reflector. so they look a bitt too dark in general. both of these mistakes are resolved in my write up.
follow my instructions and you will be pleased.
